Hill country, the old capital

Hotel and villa websites in Kandy.

The temple, the lake and the hills around them.

Kandy.

About 3 hours from Colombo by road.

Kandy was the last royal capital of the island. At its centre are the lake and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and every July or August the Esala Perahera fills the streets with processions for ten nights.

The town sits in a bowl of green hills, and most guests stay up the slopes for the cooler air and the view down to the lake.

The properties

Hill hotels and guesthouses on the slopes around the lake, heritage bungalows a little out of town, and boutique stays for the guests who come for the Perahera.

The season

Visited through the year by travellers crossing the island, and fullest for the Perahera, when rooms in town are booked well ahead.

What a site of its own does here.

For the Perahera nights, a property can fill without any help from the agents, and still pays them on every booking. A calendar on your own site, opened early for those dates, takes those bookings directly.

We come to Kandy from Colombo, about 3 hours away, at our cost, and photograph the property ourselves in the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset. If the weather is wrong on the day, we come back.

Wherever the property is, we come to you.

Send a photograph of your property in Kandy and a line about it. We answer the same day, and if we are not the right people for the job we will say so.
